Nichole Albanese, MPA, GPC has 20 years of experience helping nonprofit organizations and purpose-driven businesses increase revenue, streamline systems, manage people, and create socially responsible programs and services. She is a seasoned grant professional with a comprehensive understanding of the grant lifecycle. She has successfully written and secured millions through grant writing for federal funding, including Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Economic Development Administration (EDA), Department of Labor (DOL), state and municipalities, private foundation, and corporate grants.
As a previous director of development, she led funding initiatives for a voluntary healthcare foundation and an agency comprising a homeless shelter, after-school program, food pantry, and mental health and substance use disorder programs.
Nichole worked for the American Women's Economic Development Corporation (AWED), one of the first nonprofits established to help women start and run businesses in New York City. While there, she managed AWED's entrepreneurial training and regranting programs, counseled business owners, worked with corporate volunteer programs, and managed a six-figure grant for small business owners to rebuild after the tragic events of September 11th. She has additional experience working for the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Pitt County Development Commission in Greenville, North Carolina. She is a member of the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) and the founder and past president of the New York City Chapter. Nichole successfully earned her Grant Professional Certified (GPC) in November of 2023.
