About Funding in Reach LLC 

Nichole Albanese, MPA owner of Funding in Reach LLC has worked with nonprofit organizations and purpose-driven businesses for 20+ years successfully writing and securing $11 million and managing over $5 million in grants for various organizations. She has experience writing federal government grants (HUD, HHS-SAMHSA, HHS-ACF, NSF-SBIR), state and local municipality grants, private foundation grants, and corporate grants.

Her nonprofit work has been in the areas of homelessness, housing, job readiness, education, mental health and substance use disorder, domestic violence, cancer, sudden cardiac arrest, genetic diseases, clinical trials, disaster relief, economic development, and the environment.

Previous nonprofit roles include; director of development, grant writer, grant manager, major gifts officer, program and volunteer manager, and human resources specialist.

She worked for the American Women’s Economic Development Corporation (AWED), one of the first nonprofits established to help women-owned businesses in New York City. There she manages AWED’s entrepreneurial training programs, counseled business owners, supervised corporate volunteers, and managed a six-figure grant for businesses to rebuild after 9/11.

Her human resources experience includes working for a nonprofit foster care and adoption agency with a $20 million budget staffing their development department as well as senior executive staff positions.

As a former owner of an eco-friendly children’s boutique, she sourced organic and sustainable clothing and baby gear catering to celebrity clients before it was mainstream.

Her experience counseling small business owners and operating her own retail business along with her knowledge of fundraising, philanthropy, human resources, and sustainability practices gives her a unique perspective in the social impact field. 

She is a member of the Grant Professionals Association (GPA), Peak Grantmaking, and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).

She holds a master of public administration from East Carolina University and is certified in volunteer management and technical writing.

Funding in Reach follows the ethical guidelines set by the Association of Fundraising Professionals AFP Code of Ethical Standards and the Grant Professionals Association.
